A faith-based reflection to begin 2026 with stillness, surrender, and clarity. Let go of pressure and start the year by letting God lead.
As 2026 begins, I’m taking a moment to slow down and feel grateful. This faith-based reflection is my way of slowing down at the start of the year, releasing pressure, and choosing trust in God over control as I step into 2026.
A year ago, I was a very different woman. I was constantly planning, holding tightly to outcomes, and trying to figure out my next move before I was ready. I believed clarity came from effort and peace came from having a plan.
What I learned last year is that peace came when I stopped trying to manage everything myself. When I truly let God lead, He met me at every step. Not with a full roadmap, but with just enough clarity for the next step, and then the next.
Looking back, I barely recognize the woman I was a year ago. That transformation didn’t come from working harder. It came from trusting deeper.
Pressure turned into peace.
Confusion turned into clarity.
Striving turned into alignment.
And if God could do that in just a few months of slowing down and choosing obedience, I can only imagine what He can do in a full year.
A Faith-Based Reflection on Slowing Down and Letting God Lead
My goal for 2026 is simple... Continue.
Continue to trust even when I don’t have all the answers.
Continue to pause before rushing.
Continue to stay connected to God instead of my anxiety.
Continue to release what I was never meant to control.
I’m learning that forward movement doesn’t always require speed. Sometimes it requires stillness.
January Theme: Let God
For me, this isn't a time do more. Or plan harder. Or figure everything out ahead of time. It's time to simply let God. I want God to guide my timing, open the right doors, close the ones that aren’t meant for this season, and shape what’s next instead of forcing it.
The Let God January Fast
To begin the year, I’m entering a five-day fast focused on stillness, surrender, and clear hearing. This isn't a productivity fast or a goal-setting challenge. It’s an invitation to create space.
No pressure to be productive.
No rush to make decisions.
No need to have everything mapped out.
The intention is simple. Quiet the noise long enough for God’s peace to settle so we can hear Him more clearly and discern what He’s calling us to in this season.
For anyone who feels led to join, I’ve created a separate, detailed fast overview with dates, daily focus, scripture, and practical guidance.

Discernment Before Action
This season has reminded me that alignment often begins with better questions, not faster movement. If you’re sensing new ideas, feeling a quiet nudge, or holding something you’re unsure how to move forward with yet, know that you don’t have to rush to be faithful. Discernment matters.
This rooted reflection isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about creating space to hear God clearly before making decisions or moving forward. That’s why I created two gentle discernment tools.
The God Idea Guide is for moments when you feel called to build, shift, or start something new but need clarity before taking action.
Is This a God-Given Book Idea? is a discernment tool for those carrying a message, testimony, or story and wondering if authorship is part of what God is asking of them in this season.
Not every idea needs immediate action. Some need prayer. Some need patience. Some need to be released. Discernment protects your peace and helps you move forward with confidence, knowing you’re responding to God’s leading, not pressure or fear.
A Peaceful Way Forward
My prayer for you this January is clarity without anxiety, peace without pressure, and confidence to take only the steps God is actually asking of you, no more and no less. Here’s to a year of less striving and more trust. Less pressure, more peace, and learning, day by day, how to let go and let God lead.

Let me first start by saying, AMEN 🙌🏾‼️
This reflection for me was:
Confirmation that I’m hearing from God regarding what direction he has me going in this season of my journey.
Clarity regarding God’s specific instructions for me.
Connection to the right, village/community for me.
