Discover how obedience in small moments builds the discipline for big callings. A Rooted Reflection on showing up fully in faith and business.
The Conviction on the Treadmill
Today on the treadmill, I had one of those Holy Spirit check-in moments. I committed to two hours, and with 30 minutes left, I caught myself thinking, “I’ve already done enough.” I had already scheduled content, written a blog post, worked on SEO… plenty of boxes checked from my phone while simultaneously working out. By the world’s standards, that would be enough.
But the Spirit reminded me…
This isn’t about productivity. It’s about obedience.
Who Am I Shortchanging?
I only get two hours of childcare a day, and I’ve dedicated those two hours to the businesses God entrusted me with. If I cut corners, if I check out early, who am I really shortchanging? Not just myself… but God, the CEO of this vision.
In the workplace, we clock in, do what’s required, and clock out. But Kingdom work isn’t about “just enough.” It’s about faithfulness.
Discipline in the Small Moments
Discipline isn’t built in grand gestures. It’s formed one step at a time, one follow-through at a time. And in those moments when I want to ease up, the Holy Spirit nudges me back into alignment.
The real test is how I respond… do I hear that conviction and still choose obedience?
So today, I keep walking. Not because two hours on a treadmill will change my life, but because obedience in the small builds discipline for the big calling.
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much…” - Luke 16:10
Reflection & Prayer
Where might you be tempted to clock out early on what God has entrusted to you with?
Lord, teach me to be faithful in the small moments. Help me resist the temptation to do “just enough,” and instead choose obedience that honors You as the CEO of my vision.
Building With Obedience in Business
The same way God convicts me in small, everyday moments is the same way I approach obedience in business. Branding, strategy, design… they aren’t just boxes to check. They’re assignments to be stewarded with obedience and oil.
When we ignore those nudges, we risk building on convenience instead of conviction. But when we lean in, we create with anointing, not just aesthetics. That’s what it means to brand with oil and excellence.
If you’re ready to build your God-given vision with that same intentionality, I’d love to walk with you. Explore my services and see how we can bring your God idea to life.
